After you’ve filled out the FCC’s National Verifier form, fill out this form to get started with EarthLink. To qualify based on federal guidelines, at least one member of your household must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Has an income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, Lifeline, SSI, or Federal Public Housing Assistance
  • Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch or the school breakfast program
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year
  • Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29, 2020, and the household had a total 2020 income at or below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers

  • Live in an area where EarthLink internet is available (call 833-787-2118 to check if EarthLink is available at your address)

Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Disclosures

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program is a temporary program operated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides discounts on monthly broadband Internet access service. The EBB monthly service discount is non-transferrable. An eligible household is limited to one monthly service discount. EBB Program benefits may be obtained from any participating provider of your choosing and you may transfer your service benefit to another provider at any time.

EarthLink is in the process of getting the final approval needed to begin offering EBB discounted service.

When the FCC announces the end the EBB Program or we end our promotional EBB service offer, we will notify you and you will revert to paying the applicable undiscounted rate available at that time plus applicable fees and taxes.

Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) FAQs

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) is a limited-time program operated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides discounts of up to $50 on monthly broadband Internet access service (or up to $75 per eligible household on Tribal lands). EBB services are subject to consumer eligibility, provider participation, product availability, and FCC/Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) approval.

You are eligible for EBB discounts if you are eligible for Lifeline, or if you participate in SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit Fund, Free and Reduced Price School Lunch and Breakfast (2019-20 or 2020-21 school year), or if your household income is at or below 135% of the federal poverty level. Current year Pell Grant recipients also are eligible. If you have experienced a substantial loss in income due to job loss or furlough after 2/29/2020 and your total household income was $99,000 or less for a single filer or $198,000 or less for joint filers, you may be eligible. If you reside on Tribal Lands, participation in any of the following additional programs makes you eligible for EBB benefits: Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) General Assistance, Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Tribal Head Start (only household that meet the income qualifying standard). EBB eligibility will be determined for the FCC by USAC’s National Verifier and National Lifeline Accountability Database.

No. You may continue to receive discounted Lifeline service from your current provider and get discounted EBB service from EarthLink or any authorized EBB service provider.

Yes. EBB program benefits may be obtained from any participating provider of your choosing and your monthly service benefit may be transferred to another provider at any time.

The EBB program will end when funds are exhausted or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) declares the end of the COVID-19 health emergency. When the FCC announces the end the EBB program or we end our promotional EBB service offer, we will notify you and you will revert to paying the applicable undiscounted rate available at that time plus applicable fees and taxes.
