Over the past few years, there has been an increase in emails that claim to have your account username and password from a “questionable” website. The cybercriminals on the other end of the email are asking for ransom payments (perhaps in bitcoin) or threatening to share your activity. The Federal Trade Commission published an article highlighting online threats that could impact your security. Two they mention are vacation rental fraud and credit card processing scams.
