EarthLink Sponsors Tyler Strafaci

EarthLink is more than an internet service and mobile provider — we’re also investing in our communities. One way that we’re doing that? Supporting professional golfer Tyler Strafaci who excelled while attending The Georgia Institute of Technology and is now chasing his dreams of earning his PGA Tour card.

In 2020, Tyler won the U.S. Amateur Championship and finished the year as the No. 1 ranked Amateurgolf.com player in the United States, and No. 3 in the world. Becoming his 2021-2022 main sponsor, EarthLink has been able to underscore our shared commitment to excellence and giving back to our communities — including deepening the connections in our student-athlete internship program.

Tyler offers a unique perspective for other Georgia Tech students and alumni. While attending, he mentored as part of the EXCEL Program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and he also advises junior golfers in his community.

Through EarthLink’s sponsorship of Georgia Tech athletics and its SPRINT initiative, a program that applies science and technology to improve athlete health and well-being, EarthLink was able to see Tyler’s outstanding athletic abilities firsthand. A partnership was formed there.

Tyler comes from a family where golf runs deep — but he’s writing his own chapter. His grandfather, Frank Strafaci, won the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 1935 and won the North and South Amateur in 1938 and 1939. Eighty-one years later, Tyler won that same tournament. He describes watching his final putt as an “out-of-body experience” that brought him closer than ever with his family.

Ready to see Tyler on the links? Make sure your internet is fast enough to stream from wherever you are. Or, you can get to know Tyler Strafaci and find out how he’s staying connected while on the road.
