EARTHLINK RANKED HIGHEST IN TWO J.D. POWER AND ASSOCIATES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SEGMENTS

ISP Recognized Nationally for Dial-Up Service and In the East and South for High-Speed Service

ATLANTA, September 19, 2007— EarthLink, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNK) today announced that its dial-up and high-speed Internet services have been recognized by J.D. Power and Associates in its 2007 Internet Service Provider Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM with the highest ranking for customer satisfaction. For high-speed service, the ISP took the top ranking for the United States Eastern and Southern regions.

Power and Associates’ highest ranking is recognition of that commitment," said Jacqueline Yeaney, EarthLink’s Chief Marketing Officer. EarthLink Dial-Up was the highest rated provider in five of the seven factors including performance and reliability, image, billing, customer service and email services. EarthLink Dial Up has consistently placed at the top or near the top in the J.D. Power and Associates study rankings having received the highest rankings previously in 2002 and 2004.

EarthLink’s top position among broadband providers in the Southern and Eastern regions results from receiving the highest scores in the industry for image, cost of service and email. In the South the ISP also was rated highest for offers and promotions, and in the East for billing. EarthLink tied for the highest ranking for high-speed services in 2002, and was rated highest in 2003 and 2004.
